EX OVO - EP (1971 German Hard Rock Psych)

EP SUPER RARO!! EP VERY RARE!!
REALMENTE É NOS PEQUENOS FRASCOS QUE ESTÃO AS GRANDES FRAGÂNCIAS OU VENENOS!!

ORIGINALMENTE, EM 1967, A BANDA SE CHAMAVA "INSPIRATION" E TINHA INFLUÊNCIAS DE BANDAS DA CENA PSICODÉLICA COMO CREAM, JEFFERSON AIRPLANE E JIMI HENDRIX!! MAIS TARDE, ENTRE 1970 E 1971, OS ÚNICOS REMANESCENTES DA INSPIRATION, O BATERISTA "FRITZ BARTH" E O GUITARRISTA "KOCH HARRY", REUNIRAM UMA NOVA BANDA E, PRA SIMBOLIZAR O NASCIMENTO DESSA NOVA ERA, BATIZARAM DE "EX OVO", UM TERMO LATIM PARA OUT OFF THE EGG, OU FORA DO OVO!! A SONORIDADE É TIPICAMENTE HARD ROCK COM FORTES PITADAS PSICODÉLICAS NO ESTILO DO QUE FAZIAM AS BANDAS "EPITAPH", "NIGHT SUN" E "SPERRMULL"!! POR ENQUANTO TEMOS APENAS ESSE EP RARÍSSIMO COM DUAS MÚSICAS, MAS HÁ RUMORES SOBRE UM LP GRAVADO PELA POLYDOR QUE ATÉ HOJE NÃO FOI LIBERADO!! UM PEQUENO FRASCO DE PODEROSO VENENO!!

Originating from Koblenz as the 1967 beat combo Inspiration, with the line-up of: Steve Hamelink (vocals, bass, guitar), Rüdiger von Sanden (guitar), Fritz Barth (drums) and Harry Koch (guitar). During their 3 year history Inspiration attempted to live up to their name, and drew in a lot of more creative influences from the psychedelic scene, like Jimi Hendrix, Cream and Jefferson Airplane.

At the turn of 1970/1971 former Inspiration members: Barth and Koch got together a new band, and to symbolise their rebirth they called the new band Ex Ovo, Latin for "Out Of The Egg". They were a typically Teutonic hard-rock quartet with wailing guitars and a psychedelic edge, akin to early Epitaph, Night Sun or Sperrmüll. Rumour has it that an LP was recorded for Polydor yet it wasn't released. A shame, as their only record, a powerful gutsy rocking single, showed great promise.

Steve Hamelink, had originated with the Black-Birds (aka Blackbyrds) circa 1965, and departed Ex Ovo to work as the label manager for Ohr and Pilz, and then also worked for ZYX Music. His next band Pinball, formed in 1977, consisted of: Steve Hamelink (vocals, guitar, bass), Robyn Lynn (vocals), Wolfgang Wiegand (keyboards), Ewald Ramroth (drums), Herbert Zeitvogel (vocals, bass, guitar), Gabriel Gotenfels (guitar), and like Ex Ovo only ever got to release the one single: "White Bird / What A Beautiful Pinball" - 7" ZYX Rec 1901, the A-side being a cover of the It's A Beautiful Day song, housed in a suitably plagiaristic cover!

Harry Koch (vocals)
